Hi Jill,

With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

Hi Jill,
I hope you are having a great time at NECC. I've been looking at some of the blogs and it looks like some really good information out there. I can't wait to see what you bring back. Talk with you soon.

Hi Jill,

I was sorry that I didn't get to see you at the conference, but I know you were in the right place for your husband. Hope to see you another time soon.

Hi there...do you guys have iChat on those school Macs? I do interactive videoconferencing via H.323, which often involves expensive equipment. I wonder if more people could use interactive videoconferencing with iChat than with H.323? Or, if anyone has tried XMeeting, which is a free download which allows H.323 videoconferencing on your Mac.

Hi Deb,

I do everything with MAC - and am now playing with Leopard and am in love with their new features. What elementary students can do in the classroom is beyond amazing! This week I worked with first graders on MacBooks and we started a Kidspiration mind mapping. I have fourth graders setting up Podcasts by themselves in GarageBand and fifth graders doing video conferencing with other classrooms. Each day is magic in the classroom.

The new intel chip operating system has negated many of our old software programs - so we are learning about the new software such as Pages, Numbers, and neoOffice. I am hoping that this forum will be a place to share some of each other's discoveries. We are especially looking for a kid-friendly database to replace the old AppleWorks database.

Be sure to share your ideas with us!

Hi Jill,

I was working on a Federal Grant SEED in Maine as the Regional Coordinator and designed the training modules for the first group of 7th and 8th grade teachers who received the laptops. We trained about 85% of all the teachers in the state that summer. We had people go down and meet people from your initiative before implementing the Laptop Program and they were really helpful.

Now I work for Crick Software as the Eastern Territory Manager so use both Macs and PCs. I come to Michigan quite a bit for work and really enjoy working with MACUL.

I've been using Macs since the IIe and loved every model so far.

What do you with Macs?

Deb
