How Embarrassed!

Today I was called on stage, unawares, to demonstrate Sketchup skills. Yowsa! I could have drawn anything, and I made silly shapes. I had a great time this evening meeting 7 folks who wanted to know how to use Sketchup. Why does tech rock here in VA?

Having grown-up in Pennsylvania and Ohio, I had never thought much about computers growing up--at least within the schools. My experiences outside of school were far richer and engaging with computers. After coming to Virginia in 1999, and finding technology standards, I was amazed at what was already afoot. For me, tech rocks here because educators here built a firm foundation.
